We, the undersigned People of the United States, are deeply concerned how Newtown Police Officer Thomas Bean is being treated by using his PTSD disability against him.
One of the first responders at the Sandy Hook Elementary School Officer Bean is a hero and should not be battling his PTSD alone.
Why is PTSD treated differently than other disability claim? Officer Bean put his life on the line and acted heroically on that tragic day why should he suffer alone?
We ask that the reconsider your decision to deny Officer Bean and other first responders their long-term disabilities and demand that you cover Newtown Police Officer Thomas Bean's mental health care for long-term disability, until he is able to return to work, or his retirement.
By collecting signatures we are demanding the state of Connecticut change its disability policy and cover those diagnosed with PTSD.
