South Africa has an appalling wildlife protection record in recent years - fueled by corruption and lack of political will to take firm and right action against the serious issues which threaten our wildlife populations. South Africa is neglecting its international duty to adequately and properly protect our global wildlife heritage. Wildlife in South Africa is exploited, abused and slaughtered, legally and illegally, on a daily basis. Rampant corruption and judicial inadequacies set wildlife criminals free. I demand that the South African government, addressed herein to President Jacob Zuma, Minister Edna Molewa (Environmental Affairs) and Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk (Tourism):
1. Immediately and permanently bans the cruel practice of canned Lion hunting in South Africa.
2. As custodian of 90% of the world's remaining Rhinoceros, ensures that the White Rhinoceros is listed on CITES Appendix 1, without delay.
3. Ensures that no bail conditions are ever granted to alleged wildlife criminals in South Africa, with immediate effect.
4. Ensures that the minimum prison term for wildlife crime in South Africa is fifteen years, with immediate effect.
Until these conditions are met, I will boycott travel and tourism to South Africa and tell everyone I know of this travesty of justice by South Africa against our international wildlife heritage.

It will bring awareness to the problem and hopefully encourage the South African government to stop neglecting its international duty to adequately and properly protect our global wildlife heritage.
