Mere "survival", as per CITES' current AIM, which is "To ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival," seems to mean turning wild animals into livestock, and wild plants into hothouse plants. That is not what Mother Earth wants. She wants her wild animals and plants left alone, where she can look after them.

This petition to CITES requesting the change in their aim, will aid in the survive of wild animals and plants, and ensure that they are treated as more than a commodity, but rather as actual living organisms.  If CITES can change their aim "To ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their well-being, wildness and freedom", then they will have a better chance of survival for the future, and for future generations to see.
