With over 280,000 members and supporters nationwide, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) is the first and largest non profit serving this new generation of veterans. Our goal is to make sure these veterans and their families receive the support they need and deserve as they transition to civilian life. We need your help today so that we may continue serving our veterans through our programs below. Will you donate just $10 today to help IAVA reach more veterans? You can get a veteran connected to the support they need after returning home from war. Thank you so much for your support!
IAVA works in four primary areas to support veterans and their families:
Health: Through our Rapid Response Referral Program veterans and their families are given best in class support from professional case managers to manage mental or physical health injuries they may have, to provide information on how to get educated using the GI Bill benefit, and to help figure out benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Education: IAVA has established partnerships with academic institutions to offer free or discounted programs for our members. In addition, IAVA runs www.NewGIBill.com which is the #1 destination for navigating your GI Bill benefits.
Employment: IAVA works with partners to create programs to help veterans transition to civilian life including resume and interview skill workshops, mini MBA programs and networking events with our major corporate partners of ours.
Community: With less than one half of 1% of our country serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, many veterans come home not knowing other veterans in their community which is important for social and support networks. As a solution, IAVA coordinates and hosts events around the country for veterans to come together, have fun and interact with each other so they can meet new friends, support one another and learn about resources available to them.
