Pledge to

Contact county commissioners and request that gas chambers be removed from county dog shelters.

You have 3 days left to pledge.

How this will help

By taking the time to contact county commissioners, people can make their voices heard for companion animals. If enough people speak out, we can be a force to end the gassing of dogs and cats in Ohio. MOST IMPORTANTLY - PLEASE BE POLITE and refrain from any profanity or threats. Our advocacy for animals is based on compassion, and although we feel that many people lack such compassion, we must remain professional in our delivery of demands.

Please call, write, or email as soon as you can the commissioners in the following 2 counties. Ask them to join the majority of counties in Ohio and remove the gas chamber from their county shelter. Euthanasia by Injection is the only safe and humane method.

Perry and Erie Counties

1) Erie County Commissioners

The Erie County Commissioners have stated that they will be contracting with a veterinarian to perform injection in approximately 60 days. However, they will keep their gas chamber for aggressive dogs.

2) Perry County Commissioners:

The Perry County Dog Warden states that dogs are euthanized by a veterinarian, but the gas chamber has not been removed. He also stated that he didn't have to give a reason for keeping the gas chamber. This pound is only open 4 days a week from 7 am to 3 pm.
