CRPE works directly with communities to empower residents
to fight for a healthy environment. We create leaders, connect overlooked communities
to decision makers and mobilize residents to create their own change. You can
be a part of this change by helping fund CRPE's groundbreaking work in low
income communities and communities of color facing pollution in their backyards.
Over the past few months we've shared the inspiring stories of communities fighting dirty industry to build healthy communities.
- In Kettleman City, CA residents are fighting a massive expansion of the nearby hazardous waste
dump while experiencing high rates of birth defects and cancer. Help us stop
this dirty industry! Your donation of $25 can support a community member's travel to a public hearing.
San Joaquin Valley is home to vibrant farmlands, but has high food insecurity
among its farmworker communities. You know something is wrong with our food system if the people who harvest our food don't have access to it. Donate $10 for farming tools to help grow our beginning farmers program that puts fresh produce in food deserts.
Fracking is booming in California and residents living near wells face its
irreversible impact on their air, water, soil and health. Help us organize
residents to fight fracking in Kern County! A $50 donation can help fund leadership trainings for impacted residents.
- California's Latino schoolchildren are exposed to
poisonous pesticides at much higher rates than their white
counterparts. Help us support the Garcia family of Oxnard as they fight to stop pesticide
exposure of their schools. $100 can help with the legal costs of this case.
