Yesterday, September 7th, The National Rally for the Protection of America's Wolves took place in Washington, D.C. Participants began to gather at 9 AM around The National Monument, taking advantage of this great opportunity to meet and network with other like-minded wolf advocates. The official rally started at 11:00 AM with a line of incredible and inspirational speakers. Interestingly, too, a motorcade of about 6 black, stretch limos paused to observe the rally, and drove away. President Obama? Seems so.
At 3 PM, participants marched to the Capitol Building, where live Native American music was played and wolf lovers danced in a circle holding hands -- all united in a mission to stop the massacring of wolves in America.
Then something magical happened --- as we gathered in front of the Capitol Building for a group photograph, and as we chanted "Fund Wildlife, Not Wars!", someone shouted 'look at the rainbow!'----directly above our heads it was there, a beautiful, colorful arc. It came as if a message from the fallen wolves to let us know they knew we were there. At around the same moment an eagle was also seen flying over the Capitol Building as a host of dragonflies were also in flight everywhere!
Quite magical, indeed. But we can't stop at yesterday, we can't stop at the rally -- it is time for the armchair warriors to put the quill to the parchment --- no emails please! Take the time to write a penned (or at least a typed) snail mail letter to President Obama.
Please express your outrage at the possibility of delisting wolves nationwide; let him know that the states who have already been given the green light to kill wolves, have done it in a brutal, unthinkable fashion. Let him know that the wolf DNA diversity is at stake, and no decent American citizen can tolerate the thought of the wanton torture the wolves endure in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Minnesota, Wisconsin, with Michigan and the rest of the country in line! Enclose a graphic photo if it makes your case---put it in an interior envelope and write the words 'graphic photo' -- this is the 'polite' way to introduce hard evidence!
You know the issue inside and outside --- we are asking that you use YOUR words, as we don't want to send a blanket letter--- we want impact!
President Barack Obama, The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,
NW, Washington, D.C. 20500
Please do this, we need to keep the pressure on.....a decision will be made soon regarding the delisting of wolves nationwide.
