Easter Seals New Hampshire President and CEO Larry J. Gammon

Dear Mr. Gammon,

We are parents, caregivers, guardians, and NH citizens that care about individuals who have an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

The Granite State has invested pitifully few resources in addressing the many public health challenges associated with rapidly rising incidence of ASD, now thought to impact 1 in 88 children, according to the CDC.

Easter Seals NH has been a exception in recognizing the critical need for family support that targets this growing population in our State. We are dismayed that the position of Autism Family Support Specialist has been abruptly discontinued.

Thanks to the work and dedication of the Autism Support Specialist, literally hundreds of parents have connected with one another and with critical resources, more than 350 cadets at the NH Police Training Center have been taught how to deescalate incidence involving citizens with ASD, and numerous family-friendly programs have been initiated.

We respectfully request that you reconsider your decision to terminate this position and unique program, which had brought tangible benefits to so many in our State.

With all Best Wishes and Appreciation for the Good Work of Easter Seals,

Kirsten M. Murphy
Hanover, NH

Signed,

Kirsten M. Murphy
