To The Minister of both Australian and New Zealand Veteran Affairs.
To the Prime Ministers of both Australia and New Zealand
We the undersigned agree the homeless veterans of both Australia and New

In Australia DVA had a report on the state of our Homeless Veterans, it was
reported from ABS figures that around 3,200 Veterans in Australia are homeless,
this report also stated this number could be higher.
The last ABS figures was
taken in 2011, a recent report by another social services department states as
high as 23% of homeless could be classed as veterans.
Both Veterans who served plus War Widows fall within those above numbers, War
Widows; DVA issues a report as many as 10% are associated to the veterans
In New Zealand, it was not till the tragic death of a Homeless man called
the Blanket Man, that the New Zealand Government started to look into the state

any number counting of Veterans like other countries all over the world who are
This petition is calling on both Governments Ministers to show more support
towards the Men and Women who served in both Countries and take action to
assist those Veterans who are homeless in the community.
We would also like the Ministers to address the homeless veterans with more
ground level support and direct their welfare workers in DVA and other areas to
also assist, in the DVA Welfare Handbook, section 3/24 (N3), welfare officers
are instructed to make contact to other welfare organisations and not within
has embarked on assisting the homeless veterans in the TRUE
Spirit of the ANZAC, why will not our Government’s also assist in particle terms
and show respect to our homeless veterans.
Surely, our Veterans deserve a better deal?
Please show your support in the true ANZAC Spirit and let us join together in support of our homeless veterans?Visit www.diggersupport.org
