When I was going through my cancer treatment, people are so scared of hurting you or that you're so fragile that you will break. All we want when we go through cancer treatment is a HUG. To feel that we are still important to someone. Cancer really isn't as scary as it once was.
My aunt Meredith had leukemia (bone marrow) and was so sick with her treatments, she had to stay in the hospital. She passed when I was in high school. She was and still is my guardian angel. I could hear her saying that I needed to quit smoking a million times and always felt guilty about smoking because I knew she was looking down upon me. She stayed right by my side during my cancer treatments, with her bright red lipstick. I see her when I receive reiki (red lipstick) so I know she's there. (I quit smoking 6 years ago)
For every pledged hug, I will donate a gas card to someone getting chemotherapy at Lafayette Cancer Center.
