From July 4 through Labor Day, Tennessee Riverkeeper hosts the "Save Our Water" fundraising campaign thanks to generous support from SweetWater Brewing and Supreme Beverage. Please make a tax-deductible donation on here for "Save Our Water" 2013.
In 2011, SweetWater Brewing Company partnered with Tennessee Riverkeeper to launch a fundraising and outreach campaign called "Save the Tennessee" in Manchester, Tennessee. Since then the program, now called "Save Our Water", has raised over $5,000 for the non-profit. "Save the Tennessee" began in Manchester, Tennessee at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, one of the largest festivals in North America. In 2013, SweetWater expanded the "Save Our Water" campaign to more markets and accounts throughout the Tennessee River Valley. This expansion allows more time and opportunities for outreach and fundraising events for Tennessee Riverkeeper. This year, "Save Our Water" expands to Huntsville, Madison, and Decatur, Alabama. Participating accounts in Decatur include: The Brick Deli, Mellow Mushroom, and Simp McGhee's. Participating accounts in Huntsville and Madison include: Pie in the Sky Pizza, and both area Mellow Mushrooms, located at: 2230 Cecil Ashburn Drive SE and 470 Providence Main Street NW #102.
Although water is one of the most vital resources on the planet, waterways continue to decline in quality and quantity in virtually every part of the world. Earth is home to one billion cubic kilometers of water, yet only 2.5 percent is fresh water. Of that, less than one percent is clean and accessible, leaving more than one billion people living without safe drinking water.SweetWater Brewing Company realizes the importance of protecting these vital water sources and has once again teamed up with Tennessee Riverkeeper® and Waterkeeper® Alliance – a global movement of on-the- water advocates who patrol and protect worldwide waterways – for their "Save Our Water" campaign, supporting the conservation of the Southeast's most threatened rivers, streams and coastlines. The cause is near and dear to the brewery as clean water is also vital to the creation of their fine beers.
