We, the undersigned parents, aunts and uncles, caregivers, babysitters, family and friends of children of all ages ask you to discontinue your current design/position of car-seat fasteners/harnesses. We are asking you to redesign the positions of car-seat fasteners/harnesses and move them to an area outside of the genitalia of children such as the abdomen or lower chest area .
Children are in car-seats at least weekly for a minimum of the first three years of their lives. Fasteners/harnesses in this position give children the false sense that it is okay for other individuals to touch them in their private areas, misleading them and confusing them on whether hands in that area is an acceptable thing. It gives predators, who may not have been exposed and/or are testing their limits, to attempt fondling or other acts that may seem like average touching because children are acclimated to hands in the area.
Please redesign your car-seats and rethink the message you are sending to the infant and children of this world.

Hello, I am Violet. I am a mother, an aunt and a human rights advocate. My campaign is to petition the position of car-seat harness' fasteners for children of all ages. Children are in car-seats for at least 4 years of their lives. The position of the fasteners on every car-seat I have ever seen is in the genitalia area on children. This gives children the false sense that it is okay for adults, or anyone fastening the car-seat for that matter, to be in their private area. Children may become confused with what a good touch and bad touch are. Some sexual predators who may not have been exposed and/or have access to children use this time as an opportunity to touch inappropriately. With this petition and your support we can approach the major and minor car-seat companies for a change that benefits all children.
