Please stop selling cosmetics from Ahava Dead Sea Laboratories at Nordstrom, Inc. Ahava's products are made using stolen Palestinian natural resources in the Occupied West Bank, and are manufactured in a factory in the illegal settlement of Mitzpe Shalem. Don't let the "Product of Israel" sticker fool you—when you sell Ahava you help finance the destruction of hope for a peaceful and just future for both Israelis and Palestinians.
In fact, Ahava’s goods are not made in Israel; they are made in the Occupied Palestinian Territory of the West Bank. Because of a recent law about accurate labeling that was passed in South Africa, in that country Ahava cosmetics must now bear a sticker reading: “Originating from the West Bank: Israeli goods.” This allows consumers to make an informed choice about whether they want to purchase illegal settlement goods.
As a member of Business for Social Responsibility, how can Nordstrom’s continue to carry Ahava products? Mr. Nordstrom, don't you want to be on the right side of history? Stand up for a just peace for the people of Israel and Palestine. The settlements are an impediment to peace.
There is no love in occupation. Stop carrying Ahava cosmetics!

Stolen Beauty is a boycott campaign against Ahava Dead Sea Laboratories (www.ahava.co.il) - a privately held Israeli cosmetics company that manufactures products using minerals and mud from the Dead Sea. Ahava's products—such as Grape & Avocado Body Wash, Dead Sea Mineral Mud, and Mineral Foot Cream—are widely available in high-end department stores and pharmacies throughout the United States and in Europe.
The Hebrew word "Ahava" means love, but there is nothing loving about violating international human rights laws.
Ahava products are labeled as of 'Israeli origin,' but according to international public law, the West Bank cannot be considered to be part of the State of Israel. The mud from the Dead Sea, excavated in an occupied area, and thus it exploits occupied natural resources for profit, which is a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention.
Supporters of the Stolen Beauty Ahava boycott campaign have been in correspondence with Blake Nordstrom and members of his team since the Spring of 2010 about Nordstrom's selling of Ahava cosmetics.
