What are rights? Who has rights? Who gives us the right to . . . . . ? Rights are what is given back to someone. In this country we have certain inalienable rights and freedoms, according to the constitution. Someone once said, "our children are the first with rights, but the last to know it." This is a sad reality. In this country, every child has the right to go to school, play outside, play an instrument, a sport, find a career of choice, etc. This program seeks to ensure every child is free of abuse of any sort, has the tools to prevent such abuse and has the freedom to learn how to not become vulnerable to abuse. A right of every child in this country. According to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, . . . .  "rights structure the form of governments, the content of laws, and the shape of morality as it is currently perceived. Rights are often considered fundamental to civilization, being regarded as established pillars of society and culture, and the history of social conflicts can be found in the history of each right and its development." Each module in this program empowers the students to learn effective tools, build strong boundaries, and establish good relationships. Every child and person should be free of feeling emotional abuse, neglect, physical, sexual, and alcohol abuse and gender bias. Love shouldn't hurt! We believe in replacing the chains of pain with hands of love. We will educate a generation who will form rights fundamental to their civilization at the time. A civilization where a child's world, free of abuse, is a pillar of society and culture. Hence, the Love Don't Hurt Program. As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.  Intelligence plus character -- that is the goal of true education."
