President Obama

Mr. President, your speech yesterday ensured the voices of future generations are heard today. And your action plan and speech came not a moment too soon.

We applaud the multiple actions you can pursue unilaterally, sidestepping an intractable Congress mired in partisanship. We are grateful for your commitment that the Kyestone XL pipeline would not be approved if it increased overall greenhouse gas emissions.

As a supporter of Global Green USA, we know well the importance of the actions you propose, because they continue Global Green’s work -- whether it has been helping rebuild a greener, more resilient New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, or now working with communities devastated by Hurricane Sandy to ensure they have power - from the sun – every day, even in time of emergencies. It’s all hands on deck time.

We pledge to educate our family, friends, and colleagues, and we need to act in our own communities.  This is the spirit of Global Green's call for Citizen Entrepreneurs, each whom are taking responsibility for a corner of their world while being part of solving global warming.

Over time, we will follow your administration's future actions to make sure you put in place in the plan you outlined yesterday. We urge you to move as quickly as possible to put in place in the plan you outlined.  Future generations can not wait.

Signed,

Mark Rothman

Yesterday, President Obama delivered a watershed speech on climate change— the greatest challenge facing humanity - at Georgetown University. It was a speech that we have longed to hear for some time, and we all have called for since he first ran for office. Today we need to thank President Obama and urge him to move forward as swiftly as he can.
