Help provide emergency relief to the survivors of the "Himalayan
tsunami" that has taken a toll of over 10.000 in Northern India after
heavy Monsoon rains started almost a month early on June 16. Still to
date, hundreds if not thousands of pilgrims are still stranded in the
high Himalayas, at times without water, food and shelter, trapped by
landslides and destroyed roads. Rescuing them is a race against time as
air-borne rescue operations are hampered by bad weather.
Project Hope is a program of the India Heritage Research
Foundation and its sister organization, the Ganga Action Parivar, and is
supported by the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, an unprecedented
collaborative initiative engaging the world's many faiths in creating a
water-secure world where improved sanitation and safe drinking water
will be in reach of every human being.
