If the government is allowed to retract salaries of their employees what will they do next, lower minimum wage?

We, the Civil Servants of America, object to being furloughed in order to pay off debt that the government created!

We object to being forced to provide care and services to our military, veterans, and their families that is anything less than above and beyond the standards they deserve!

Most of all, We object to the fact that the government we work for believes that hijacking the incomes of its Civil Servants is the solution to the problem they created!

It makes no sense for the government to furlough its workers at the bottom of the ladder (LPNs, MSAs, Maintenance workers, Security, etc.) when they could be furloughing near the top.

The average salary of a civil servant is approximately $30,000 - $70,000 annual. The average salary of a Congressman is approximately $150,000.

The Congress, Senate, and even the President could easily decrease their annual incomes by the proposed 20% without being thrown into poverty like the majority of civil servants expect to be.

We propose that the Senate, Congress, and the President of the United States to be put on furlough instead. In addition, we propose that all FORMER Senators, Congressmen, and Presidents no longer receive salaries for positions that they no longer occupy!

It is the hope of this petition to get as many signatures as possible showing that America is against the furlough of its Civil Servants and the services they provide BEFORE the proposed start date of 08 JULY 2013. Please sign!

Signed,

Chrisann Foret

How this will help

Civil Servants provide necessary and much needed care and services to our country's citizens, including military, veterans, and their families on a daily basis.

A furlough would mean less...

Civil Servants provide necessary and much needed care and services to our country's citizens, including military, veterans, and their families on a daily basis.

A furlough would mean less availability of care and services for the American citizens. In other words, less law enforcement, less firefighters, and in some cases less health care workers to care for you and your loved ones!

Also, to be blunt, we need our jobs just like everyone else. The 20% loss of income will mean foreclosures, repossessions, and inability to pay bills or buy groceries for many Civil Servants.

We don't do our jobs to become rich!

We love what we do and the people we do it for!
