Australian Federal Parliament

In 2009 the United Kingdom created the Elizabeth Cross to provide national recognition for the families of Armed Forces Personnel who have died on operations or as a result of an act of terrorism. Like the Victoria Cross and the George Cross/Cross of Valour, we would like to see Australia adopt this honour to recognise those families who have sacrificed their loved ones in service of their country. We would like the Federal Parliament of Australia to consider adopting the Elizabeth Cross for this purpose, for Australia's fallen.

How this will help

The families of Australian Armed Forces Personnel who have died on operations have no formal recognition. This is the least we as a nation could do to recognise their sacrifice.
