Dear Sister Elizabeth Halaj, Father Ed Czarcinski, and Bishop Paul Bootkowski,
the undersigned, parents of students, parishioners of church, residents of Milltown, and friends in the community sign this petition in support of
the continued operation of Our Lady of Lourdes School in Milltown, NJ.
Since 1942 OLOL has been an integral part of the community. It has provided affordable, quality education for residents, near & far, especially those in need. We are committed members of the OLOL community,
and we are joining together to ask that you DO NOT CLOSE OLOL this June,
but instead allow for the 2013-‐2014 school year to proceed. This year
will allow the Home School Association, and the community-at-large, to
develop and begin to implement a viable long-term plan to increase
enrollment and restore financial health to the school. Please allow OLOL to remain in operation for the 2013-2014 Academic year.

Catholic Education is at a crossroads. Small Catholic schools are in danger of closing due to high financial costs and a move to create larger, more regional schools. Affordable options for parents are diminishing. We are taking a stand to keep OLOL School, a small, tight-knit community school open.
