Edventure More's award-winning science, art, technology and life skills camps, Camp Edmo and Camp EdTech, are starting in just over a month. While our excitement grows for the summer, so has our concern as requests for camp scholarships continue to pour in. This year we are striving to serve over 220 families requesting almost $235,000 worth of scholarship weeks. Although 5% of our camp proceeds fund our Giving Programs, we still need the help of donations to grant all these camp wishes.

To help us fill the gap this summer, our entire Edventure More staff and Board of Directors are reaching out to our personal networks to help us raise at least $30,000. We sincerely appreciate any amount you can contribute, large or small, to our cause. With your help we can minimize the impact of Summer Learning Loss and build 21st Century Life Skills for hundreds of disadvantaged kids this summer.

Please join our Giving Circle by donating today!

Why our summer camps are so important to scholarship families:

  • Kids who don't participate in enrichment activities during the summer lose 2-3 months worth of science, math or reading skills over the summer. Summer Learning Loss explains up to 2/3 of the achievement gap between affluent and low-income kids.
  • 80% of the children awarded scholarships to Edventure More camps last summer did not attend any other summer programs because of their financial need.
  • Summer school has been cut by 75% across the state of California.
  • Over 50% of Bay Area 5th graders are failing in science proficiency tests and 52% of schools report they "do not have capacity in their district office to support science education."
  • 42% of middle to high-income families send their kids to summer camps, compared to only 5% of low-income families.
  • "We have more families than ever in desperate need for services like Camp Edmo this year…we fear we won't have enough resources to support them." –Marin Family Services Advocate, San Raphael School District.
