On January 30, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced new single payment amounts for a broad range of home medical equipment across much of the country. The results of Round Two of the CMS bidding program – cutting prices by an average of 45 percent – are certain to be devastating to providers and patients alike. In light of this unprecedented action by CMS, your congressional representatives need to hear from every home medical equipment provider about the potential effects of this latest round of cuts to America’s homecare infrastructure. Please send a letter to your Senators and Representative urging their support for H.R. 1717, the Medicare DMEPOS Market Pricing Program Act of 2013, newly-introduced legislation to enact a Market Pricing Program alternative to the bidding program.
