How this will help

Here's the chance to do our part to improve the health of families in Raja Ampat, Indonesia.  Take the pledge with me today to alleviate water-borne diseases in region.  Healthy people contribute to healthy ecosystems and to a healthy planet.
The Raja Ampat Islands, situated near the northwest coast of Papua, consists of about 1,500 islands, home to  some 85 villages. The census in 2001 showed that total population in was just under 50,000 people.  Many of these families suffer from chronic diarrhea and other water-borne illnesses.  You can help us alleviate the effects of these diseases on individuals and households by partnering with the Save Raja Ampat Foundation in our efforts to end these chronic illnesses plaguing the people of this archipelago.
Using targeted public health strategies in education and interventions, the Save Raja Ampat Foundation will help eradicate water-borne illnesses by partnering with Vestergaard-Frandsen in Indonesia to bring LifeStraw point-of-use, individual and and family water purifiers to afflicted households. The LifeStraw filter is portable and prevents common diarrheal diseases, by enabling individuals to use the filter in virtually any found source, thereby providing immediate access to safe and clean drinking water.  The LifeStraw Family filter is an instant microbiological water purifier with a high flow rate and efficacy that meets U.S. EPA standards.  It can supply a household with over 18,000 liters of safe water. Help the health of Raja Ampat's families by donating to this project today. Donate today at or take the pledge:
