I am calling for the Government to help stop the destruction of the Sundarban.

As we all know, Sundarban is the largest mangrove forest in the world. The latest contract signed between Bangladesh and India to build a power plant near Sundarban will only destroy the beautiful forest and lead the extinction of many animals such as the Royal Bengal Tiger. We have less than 170 adult Royal Bengal Tigers in the Sundarbans!! This will disrupt the ecosystem badly and will bring about a bad climate shift in Bangladesh.

So please support this cause and help save the Sundarbans!   :)

Bangladesh and India on Saturday signed three agreements for a joint coal-based power company project. The thermal power plant is proposed to be set up over 1,834 acres of land near the Mongla seaport which would result in drastic changes in nature including rise in arsenic levels, soil damage, acid rain and an extinction of Sundarban-the largest mangrove forest in the world. If this coal based power plant is built near Sundarbans out in the open, it will endanger the diverse wildlife in the Sundarbans including the Royal Bengal Tiger. India approved NTC (National Thermal Power Corporation) to have a similar plant in Madhya Pradesh, so why did we shake hands to create something which would only destroy what we have left? - Share to raise your voice.
