Investment in the fossil-fuel industry is socially, economically, and environmentally irresponsible. Greenhouse gas emissions associated with human consumption of fossil-fuels (AKA Anthropomorphic Climate Change) causes Global Warming and remains a very serious threat to the environment, the Earth's natural resources and human welfare.
By investing in fossil fuels, the University of California - Davis is condoning and enabling the fossil-fuel industry's destructive behavior. We are witnessing the increasing impacts of a warming planet more and more consistently. This last year alone our country experienced record-breaking heat, droughts, hurricanes, unusual changes in season, winter storms, and innumerable tornadoes which devastated hundreds of thousands of people and cost our country hundreds of billions of dollars. Super-Storm Sandy alone caused over $50 Billion in damage.
Experts agree that this anthropomorphic climate change will continue to accelerate global warming on our planet and it will intensify these destructive climate disasters. Let's ensure that a clean, green and renewable energy future is promoted by university leaders.
