"SIX people including an 18 month-old baby were taken to hospital after a fire in Prescot earlier today.
Residents living in the block of flats in Thomas Drive were ordered to stay inside their homes as firecrews from Whiston, Huyton and Old Swan cleared the hallway of thick plumes of smoke.
The smoke bilowed out when a fire broke out in a cupboard under the stairs of the property just after 2am.
A 23 year-old man needed treatment for smoke inhalation and a woman aged 22, an 18 month-old baby girl, were also taken for precautionary check-ups at Whiston Hospital after being led to safety.
Another man aged 20 and two teenage girls aged 17 and 14 from a different flat were also led to safety and taken to hospital as a precaution.
Firefighters spent two hours at the sceene and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway."
Me and 5 others was trapped in this because we wasnt aware of the danger outside our front doors if only a fire alarm was fitted we would of been awake before the heat and smoke got to much and we had to wait trapped for the fire service to rescue us.
MORE SHOULD BE DONE NOT ONLY IN MY BLOCK BUT IN ALL KHT AND ALL FLAT BLOCKS TO SAVE LIVES LUCKY IM A LIVE BUT DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE FOR THIS MESSAGE TO GET OUT...
SMOKE ALARMS NEED TO BE FITTED NOW!!!
