Senate Bill 792 and Assembly Bill 3681..Synopsis: Increases penalties for certain "right of way" motor vehicle violations and requires attendance at Driver Improvement program.
The TLJFoundation has supported these bills..however, the language is very weak, it does not include all the definitions of "right of way". The penalties are minor..even if the violation of "right of way" results in a fatality.
The hope is that by signing this petition Senator Madden and Assemblyman Albano will work to revise the language..and re-introduce the bill so it can become an enforceable law in New Jersey..
Trevor L. James lost his life needlessly because of an inattentive motorist who made a grevious decision to enter a roadway to make a left turn. Trevor was 35 ft. from the parking lot on his MOTORCYCLE.
Please help us to move this legislation forward..for the memory of Trevor and to save the lives of others, to educate the public and hold persons accountable when serious accidents occur that could be avoided.

Motorists on our roadways no longer seem to obey the rules of the road when entering into a roadway from side roads, parking lots, driveways..etc. There are many on the road that are even more vulnerable..i.e., motorcycles, bicycles, pedestrians. We ALL have a responsibility to be SURE the roadway is clear before entering in. Taking our time, being responsible and respectful drivers can circumvent accidents such as the one that took the life of Trevor James. Please help us..and sign this petition...and send it on..like a "penny doubled"~
With grateful appreciation
