We are all human, and we all need to be loved just as any other person does. So, why limit the ways we show our love? Is it because of religion? Is it because that’s “The way it needs to be”? The vast majority of people are homophobic, or claim homosexuality is a choice. People know they are homophobic; Homo meaning same in the Greek language, or meaning man in Latin, Phobic meaning fear. So, why would someone allow themselves to fear something? To ridicule, to hate, to discriminate, to separate people who just want to love? Why would you be afraid? There are studies that prove the reasons behind homosexuality, and the next few paragraphs will explain.
One reason people do not want to allow Gay marriage, is because of their religious beliefs. However, in my researching, Ezekiels 16:49 says, “‘Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy” which means the Sodomites were not homosexual. So, does the Bible contradict itself? Or are you looking at the story completely wrong? The reason God turned the Sodomites to stone was because they were arrogant and horrible people. They were lustful. They were willing to even have sex with the angels. I believe that Ezekiels, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, John, Ruth, all of them, should not be the main focus in the Bible. Why? They, no matter how much you want to believe they are, are not speaking for God. If God wanted someone for us to look to, he would’ve gone to one person. In fact, he did go to one person. He died on the cross for our sins. That is the person we are supposed to look to for hope, and for God.
The next thing people do not think about, is what marriage is. Marriage is something you declare your love in front of God. In doing so, God sends his grace and is going to try and keep it together. “'And the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Matthew 19:4-6. I do not believe in what he says, only what God says. However, he does make a valid point. That is the sole purpose of marriage. If you are a person who does believe in what Matthew has to say, then you are defying God by separating two people that would like to bound themselves to God, and show God they love each other.
John 8:1 Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives,
John 8:2 but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them.
John 8:3 As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and Pharisees brought a woman they had caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.
John 8:4 "Teacher," they said to Jesus, "this woman was caught in the very act of adultery.
John 8:5 The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?"
John 8:6 They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger.
John 8:7 They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, "All right, stone her. But let those who have never sinned throw the first stones."
John 8:8 Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.
John 8:9 When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman.
John 8:10 Then Jesus stood up again and said to her, "Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?"
John 8:11 "No, Lord," she said. And Jesus said, "Neither do I. Go and sin no more."
Each sin is forgivable, all treated equally. A liar is no different from a murderer. God looks to both with the same amount of sadness. If being Gay truly is a sin, it will be their cross to bear, and you should not cast any judgment; you should not get in the way of their choices, for it is God who shall either give them strength to repent, or allow them to continue, you will not be their saint. God makes no abominations; God makes his children, which are all loved by him. God hates no one.
One thing we have to learn is everything changes. Women have rights, Africans aren’t our slaves, and America is its own country now. We need to embrace change.
Harvard University studies have shown that homosexuals are indeed born the way they are. The video above explains how men are turned homosexual, but it doesn’t explain how women are Lesbian. I have looked at the website for Harvard University, and it says, for women, “In light of the ambiguity of the scientific research on sexuality, I will present a brief example where there is a clear genetic link to adult homosexuality. Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is a hormonal disorder that causes an excess of male-specific hormones, known as androgens, while the fetus is developing in the womb (Pang et al. 1985; Witchel and Azziz 2010). CAH is most often caused by a mutation in a single gene, and genetic tests have existed for well over a decade (Van Ryzin 2009)…Girls born with CAH can have an enlargement of the clitoris so severe that their sex is misassigned at birth” (http://isites.harvard.edu/icb/icb.do?keyword=k78405&pageid=icb.page414413)
I believe it is unjust to not allow people to connect with each other for their life. It is their life. My favorite singer has said, “Ignorance seems to be a driving force these days in the development and evolution of the human race, and I’m finding out more and more that people really are afraid of what they don’t understand… (I) had this idea in the hope of being a voice, a representative and a leader for those who face the same treatment as I do because of the way they look, their sexuality or any other personal preference they choose to have that their opposers find unfitting for their world of normality. I am a firm believer that you don’t have to look different to BE different. I think that being different is more so a frame of mind than anything aesthetically, and that taking it upon yourself to grab hold of the strength of mind to put yourself out there to be ridiculed for being who you really are IS the personification of the word “different”. Something I support with every ounce of myself that I have to give…
“OF COURSE I understand that when you do something like that, that you’re going to have to deal with the criticism, I’m not stupid and naive to think that I’d be able to walk into a Wal-Mart with tattoos, piercings and make-up on and have everyone greet me with a smile on their face. That’s certainly not how the world works. People are generally afraid of things that aren’t what they have been told are normal, or in some cases what their faith tells them isn’t correct and their most natural defense against it is to lash out in anger. What bothers me most is how condescending their comments are, as if because I wear eyeliner I must be stupid and a **** up degenerate, when really they fail to realize that their ignorance is the purest form of stupidity and a severe insult to their intelligence.” http://chrismotionless.tumblr.com/page/6
“These people somehow have developed this warped sense of entitlement that they feel that they can dictate standards that you and I can live by. All of you are beautiful. Those people, both inside and out, are the ugliest people I have ever seen.” ~ Chris Motionless.
What do you think now? Do you still think it is pure choice? Then I will ask you one more question, you can answer yourself.
If being Homosexual is a choice, you’re saying right now, you can kiss the same sex and love them with all your heart the same way you can kiss the opposite sex, correct? You can have sex with them, (Actually, most homosexuals will not penetrate each other, most would rather do private masturbation then have sex with their partner) you can have true love with the same sex?
I do not think you can.
Legalize homosexual marriage in all states!! NOTICE!!! I had to put the description above, this would not hold the whole thing!! Please read it <3 for equality!
