Our country is facing an economic and environmental crisis but you continue to permit needless waste through the purchase of plastic bottles. We demand that you take leadership on this issue and ban bottled water.

Every year about 1.5 million tons of plastic go into manufacturing water bottles for the global market, using processes that release toxics such as nickel, ethylbenzene, ethylene oxide and benzene.  Giant multinational corporations have invested millions of marketing dollars to make bottled water seem healthier and more attractive than tap water.
