Sign the Petition to

Parents/carers and road users, falkirk Council

Please sign the petition to safeguard our crossing patrol person at the busy peleican crossing on Hodge St/Games Hall Entrance to Comely Park Primary School. Many children and their carers rely on the crossing patrol person to help them safely use this busy crossing and ensure them a safe walk to school. Falkirk Council want to  remove the crossing patrol person from this site, which is contrary to their initiative to encouragimg kids to walk to school, as how can they when doing so puts them at risk from traffic? The knock on effect of removing the crossing patrol will also mean more congestion and parking problems at school as more parents/carers are forced to drive their kids to school instead of letting them walk. Congestion nnot only contravenes the council policy of cutting down on motoring to school, but also puts children who do walk to school at greater risk from traffic, and the congestion poses greater problems for drivers , pedestrians and residents around the school drop off area .

Tell Falkirk Council saving £7000 per annum by cutting this service is at the greater cost of safety. We want safe passage to school, not cuts!

Signed,

Mairi-Christine Summers
