Governor Rick Perry

The Texas Prisons have no measures of correction or higher education in them.  A person who is incarcerated for a crime is never counseled as to the why or how. Texas has the largest prison system and that's is not anything to brag on, apparently there is a lot missing from this institution. The budget cut in 2000 eliminated 85% of all schooling, 90% of all mental heath assistance and case managers are a thing of the past.

How can we say we are doing anything to help rehabilitate those in prison when there is nothing there.

BROKE + BROKE = BROKEN, We can not expect a broke person to go in a broke place and come out fixed.

Signed,

Richard Miles

Safety for us as a whole society, the assurance that if someone does commit a crime that, number one they are arrested, they are rightfully convicted, and they are sent to an INSTITUTION THAT IS CONCERNED ABOUT CORRECTING THE ISSUES AND BEGINS TO EDUCATE OR OFFER IT.

Lastly the confidence that WE have done OUR responsibility as a Society to CORRECT AND EDUCATE THOSE WE DEEM LOST.

*I am all for opening the doors of America to all nations for us to aid and assist them, but we have a population coming home everyday - AND THEY DON'T NEED A CARD TO HIT THE STREETS. Once they are released, these men and women are here, and if safety is YOUR CONCERN then EDUCATION AND CORRECTION IS A MUST FOR THOSE IN PRISON
