Cover my coughs and sneezes with my sleeve

How this will help

Prevent the spread of germs by covering your coughs and sneezes with the sleeve on your elbow or shoulder. This is one of the easiest and most effective things you can do to help your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers stay healthy.

A single sneeze produces more than 40,000 droplets of moisture and millions of germs, propelled over a distance of 32ft. And, according to professor Oxford of Queen Mary medical school in London, about half of all common cold viruses are transmitted via the hands, with the rest caught by breathing in infected droplets that others have sneezed out. Sneezing into your sleeve traps these droplets and germs, greatly reducing the likelihood that they will make other people sick.

Don't forget to wash your hands frequently. If you are sick, the most productive thing you can do is to stay home, get rest, and drink lots of fluids.

You can also print out some posters and flyers from the CDC website and post them in your homes and workplaces.

If we work together, we can all live happier and healthier lives.
