Cities of Allentown and Bethlehem

We the undersigned request action from our local governing bodies.

We the undersigned respectfully request the closure of "Scoobies Gentlemens Club." For many years we (the residents of the cities of Allentown and Bethlehem in Lehigh County) have been dealing with many issues in regards to this "club." From women wearing hardly any cloths in front of the facility to drunken citizens stumbling into the yards of the homeowners near the club. Around the facility one can easily find broken bottle and other dangerous objects. Now, we are faced with the lose of a young man's life, because of this "club."

On January 26th 2013, Tyree Wimberly was violently gun down at 1:30am on his way home from running an errand for his sister. His murderer was a 20-year-old male who was seen exiting Scoobies Gentlemens Club moments before the shooting. (Scoobies violated their hours of operation by being open past 12am. Had Scoobies been closed at 12am as per their hours of operations, then the 20-year-old murderer would not have been exiting the club at 1:30am and would not have shot and killed Tyree Wimberly.)

The Gentlemens Club has allowed underage drinking within their facility according to one of their own promoters. This information (messages between the promoter and an individual) has recently been provided to local police department officials.

This "Gentlemens club" is within walking distance of two daycares, a senior citizen's retirement center, and hundreds of homes. The facility is also near two Bethlehem Area School District Schools (Rosemont and Clearview), as well as, one school in the Allentown School District (Ritter Elementary School).

Therefore, we ask that the cities of Allentown and Bethlehem, as well as, Lehigh County look into freeing our community, children, and others for this hazard. We ask the you move forward to shut down this "Gentlemen's Club."

Signed,

Basilio A. Bonilla Jr
