Take the Challenge - Make the Commitment!

About one in three high school students have been or will be involved in an abusive relationship (Bureau of Justice Special Report: Intimate Partner Violence, May 2000). Both teenage boys and girls have been victims of this new age domestic violence - called abuse. Abuse comes in different forms, verbal, mental and physical. It seems that abuse is now – more than ever – has become an acceptable norm.

Take the Challenge - Make the Commitment to Stop the Abuse!

I commit to do all that I personally can to stop dating violence.

Beginning right now, I will do my part to help put an end to dating violence by committing to change my behaviors.

  1. I commit to use words that do not hurt or mistreat others
  2. I commit not to abuse anyone physically, mentally, emotionally, verbally, and/or sexually.
  3. I commit to respect myself by not allowing others to abuse me
  4. I commit to respect others as I want people to respect me
  5. I commit to get help if I am abused
  6. I commit to respond and/or react if I see someone being abused
  7. I commit to make a difference. Starting with me!
