Dugong Emergency Protection Project
Recent aerial surveys indicate that there are less than 200 dugongs in the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park population.  This remnant group of endangered seacows may represent the only remaining dugong population in the Western Indian Ocean.  Local scientists report virtually no expectancy of survival unless the population is afforded critical attention through an Emergency Protection Programme.

We have been asked to support this Dugong Emergency Protection Project in Southeast Africa.  If approved by our Scientific Advisory Board, your donation to Sirenian International via this Cause will be earmarked for the project lead by Endangered Wildlife Trust.  Learn more at http://www.ewt.org.za/programmes/S2SP/dugong.html
