We the undersigned petition Facebook to add an option of "in a polyamorous relationship" to the list of relationship types that people can select for their profile as well as allowing the user to list more than one person that they are in a relationship with. While Facebook offers a wide variety of options of relationship types, polyamorous individuals have been overlooked and it is time to bring that to an end. As massive as Facebook's userbase is, there is no reason to exclude polyamorous relationships or to force polyamorous people to list themselves as being in an open relationship when that is not accurate for all polyamorous relationships. In fact, most polyamorous relationships only allow for intimacy between only those directly involved in the relationship itself and not outsiders, and the label of "open relationship" most commonly refers to a couple who has sex outside of the primary relationship. Of course, as with anything, there are exceptions to this rule.
It's such a simple change that would make such a huge difference. Please, Facebook, show that all your users and the users they love matter to you.

I am a VERY blessed woman. I am in love, and am loved in return. As a Facebook user, I naturally want to declare to the world, via my profile, that I'm in love and who with. However, there is a problem.
I am polyamorous and am in a relationship with two people.
As it stands I have only two options available to me to announce my relationship. I can choose either "in a relationship" or "in an open relationship", but even then I have to choose one partner or the other to list, there is no option that allows me to list both. The open relationship option is also not accurate for me because I am devoted to my two partners, but I would not seek anyone else. I have them, why would I need more? And why should I have to be the least bit dishonest about my relationship?
I know that not many people understand the dynamics of polyamorous relationships, and that's fine. It's not all too common. However, Facebook has options for just about every other kind of relationship under the sun, why exclude polyamorous relationships? It's a simple change that would mean a lot to poly Facebook users, so why shouldn't Facebook do it?
This survey's aim is for Facebook to not only add an option of "in a polyamorous relationship" to the list of relationship types a user can choose from, but to also allow the user to list more than one person that they're in a relationship with (however many people are involved).
Please help me and countless other poly Facebook users declare our love, too.
Thank you so very much.
