We, the undersigned, demand the MAXIMUM sentence permitted by law, at Christopher Gish's sentencing on January 4, 2013, for the senseless murder of Margaret Litwicki, the mother of 3 children, and his significant other. Please join us in promoting a zero-tolerance approach to domestic violence by making Gish pay for his heinous crime, to the fullest extent possible.
Christopher Gish reached a plea deal in the death of Margaret Litwicki, mother to two of his children, on Monday, November 19, 2012. Gish pleaded guilty to an amended charge of first-degree reckless homicide. He was originally charged with first-degree intentional homicide, which would have resulted in imprisonment for life.
Gish fatally stabbed Litwicki in her Greenfield, WI home on Saturday, July 14, 2012, with multiple stab wounds to the chest. According to the criminal complaint, Gish admitted to police that he stabbed Litwicki in the chest numerous times after he said she threatened to take the kids away. The report states that Gish told police: “I never wanted to kill her,” but later said, “You know what? I don’t feel bad that I did it. I honestly don’t for some #$@&ing oddball reason dude…”.'
It is particularly disturbing that Gish feels no remorse for his actions, which have forever altered the lives of his children and Margaret's family. In light of an epidemic of domestic violence deaths this year, we must unite to deter criminals from committing the same types of acts...by advocating for truth in sentencing and maximum sentencing as permitted by law. In enforcing a zero-tolerance policy, potential criminals will have plenty to consider before committing a violent act. For criminals who are sentenced, they will have a lifetime to suffer the consequences behind bars for actions they once had no remorse for committing. Let's make our communities safer and send a clear message that we will not tolerate domestic violence, and perpetrators will be dealt with accordingly. Join us in this endeavor by signing this petition requesting that Christopher Gish receives the MAXIMUM sentence possible on January 4, 2013, for the murder of Margaret Litwicki.
