Sign the Petition to

York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Department of Health

Leaked documents include a proposal that the Emergency Department at Scarborough Hospital is to close overnight requiring patients to be transferred to other hospitals if they require emergency department care. This is highly likely to have a negative impact on critically ill patients who require urgent medical attention at their local hospital. These patients need rapid clinical assessment together with often life-saving interventions and diagnostic facilities.

Other services are also under threat.

Signed,

Edward Scarth

Long transfer times to other hospitals could seriously compromise the clinical outcome for patients who often need urgent assessment and treatment including: suspected heart attack, life-threatening asthma attack, acute airway obstruction, major bleeding, multiple trauma, major head and neck injuries.

Please also consider signing the petition if you are also concerned at the threat of other services being transferred to hospitals many miles away.
