Sign the Petition to

United Kingdom Government

We, the undersigned People, are deeply concerned at the level of salary, benefits, and pensions that are available to the elected servants of the people of the United Kingdom. We are also deeply concerned that MPs are allowed to have other jobs. This leads to a conflict of interest when voting. If MPs are paid to represent us, then that is what they should do. MPs should not be allowed to vote on whether or not they have an increase in salary and expenses, this should be decided by the people. We demand they are not paid any more than the average person in the country. this will be dictated by the economic data on a yearly basis.

Signed,

Christina Sosseh

Being an MP used to be a voluntary position, this then changed to them being paid an allowance. This in my opinion has now got out of hand, they have a salary from us, they often have directorships of companies for which they are paid. they then can also claim all sorts of expenses, hence the expenses scandal.
While i understand that we need a variety of people in parliament i feel it has all got out of hand and needs reigning in. i dont see why they should have any more than the average person in the country. Lets get it changed
