  1. as you are aware this case began with the murder of my 20 year old son john butler 7th 10th 2002 as a result of the garda investigation  cecil lynch and jerry ross were brought before the four courts in Dublin to stand trial for my son.s murder as part of there investigation the garda had a signed statement from Thomas morey giving details of his involvement in the murder of john butler and also the involvement with the above said associates during the trial Thomas morey  or morley recanted a signed statement citing a loss of memory with regard to the events on the night they killed my son this loss of memory  of the witness this Thomas morey resulted in the above getting off for my son.s murder my son my husband I and  all of

my family and friends were denied justice for our son a father .cousin friend employee and a member of our community .john butler  in my opinion the flippant excuse of siting inability to remember the vital evidence needed to convict cecil lynch and jerry ross is intolerable it shows a blatant lack of respect for the justice system the laws of ours land society and human morality it further more shows a complete lack of respect for my son who was a young father  and a precious life in himself  and was left to die on gurranabraher road barrick building  blarney street our lives has been  devastated by the loss of our son my grandson have very few memories of his dad as he was just 3 years old when he was robbed of his father he is now a young man and we as adults are still unable to explain to him as a young boy about the legal issues arising from the killing  of his innocent dad  it is very difficult  to a young child that despite that fact something very wrong  has been done  no one has faced legal  consequences such as prison  my son.s childhood friend further went on to take his own life as a result of the grief and injustice he felt resulting my son.s murder and the collapested court  of those who were responsible john.s extended family  has also been left heartbroken on june 2008 my husband willingly gave up his battle against his grief.despair and injustice and took his own life in his dying words he hoped I would be consoled with the though he would now be with our son john   all over a burger at a local takeway?
