STOPPING GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI’S DISRESPECT(BEADBI) IN QUEENS, NEW YORK
WaheguruJiKaKhalsaWaheguruJi Ki Fateh. This petition is from the Sikh Community asking for justice from the United States of America. Recently the Sikh Sangat of New York heard of the ignorance being carried on at the SatyaNarainMandir where the Guru Granth Sahib Ji is being disrespected. Sikh Sangat of New York went to the SatyaNarainMandir(Hindu Temple) located on 75-15 Woodside Avenue, Jackson Heights, New York 11373 Phone Number (718) 899-8863 and saw the Guru Granth Sahib Ji(The Living Guru of the World’s fifth largest Sikh Religion) was placed in middle of the Mandir. There was also a Murti(Statute) of the First Guru of the Sikhs Guru Nanak DevJi was placed right next to the Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The Guru Granth Sahib Ji is not supposed to be in a Mandir. The Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the Guru of the Sikh’s and it is only supposed to be in one house of worship which is the Gurdwara( Sikh Temple). The tenth Guru of the Sikhs Guru Gobind Singh Ji said "Agyabhai Akal kitabhichalayoPanthSabhSikhankohukamhai Guru manyoGranth Guru GranthJimanyopargatGurankideh Jo Prabhukomilbochahekhojshabadmein le Raj karegaKhalsaaqiraheinakoeKhwar hoe sabhmilangebachesharanjo hoe." Translation: "Under orders of the Immortal Being, the Panth was created. All the Sikhs are enjoined to accept the Granth as their Guru. Consider the Guru Granth as embodiment of the Gurus. Those who want to meet God, can find Him in its hymns. The pure shall rule, and impure will be no more, Those separated will unite and all the devotees shall be saved." Guru Gobind Singh Ji wanted the Sikhs to have the Guru Granth Sahib Ji in the Gurdwara(Sikh Temple) where the sangat will take care of it with full respect because it is the living Guru of the Sikhs and it cannot be in a Hindu Mandir. Sikhs are totally different religion from the Hindu religion and the Guru Granth SahibJi can only be in the Sikh Gurdwara(Sikh Temple). Sikhism does not believe in Murtis and therefore making a Murti of Guru Nanak DevJi goes against Sikhism teachings. This ignorance carried on by the Mandir management goes against the Sikh RehatMaryada(Sikh Code of Conduct) and only a baptized Sikh priest can recite the daily prayers from the Guru Granth Sahib at the Gurdwara(Sikh Temple) not a Hindu pandit(Hindu Priest) who wears a hat. In conclusion the Sikh religion does not disrespect any religion out there however it does not allow the disrespect of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji carried on at the Mandir where people come in with their head uncovered and disobey the Sikh teachings. This is clearly an act of ignorance carried by the SatyaNarainMandir and it needs to be stopped now. The Guru Granth Sahib Ji can be in the Sikh Temple not in a Hindu mandir. Guru Granth SahibJi di beadbi is happening in our hometown Queens, New York and the Sikh Sangat needs to wake up and stand against this disrespectful act carried by the Hindu Mandir management committee. The Sikh Sangat has met with the tri-state Gurdwara committees about this issue and we ask for your help to stop this ignorant act. People that have love for the Guru and its KhalsaPanth should support the Sikh Sangat in bringing back the Guru Granth Sahib Ji to the Sikh temple and out of the Hindu Mandir!
WE REQUEST TO THE SIKH COMMUNITY AND ANY OTHER COMMUNITY LEADERS TO HELP FIGHT FOR THIS DISRESPECTFULACT BY ONLY USING THE NEW YORK LAW. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS ISSUE UPON YOURSELF ONLY AND WE REQUEST THAT WE WORK WITH THE LAW AND THE COMMUNITY TO STOP THIS IGNORANT ACTION. PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION BELOW AND HELP US BRING BACK THE GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI BACK TO THE GURDWARA(SIKH TEMPLE). WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH.
