Those who persecute Baha’is in Iran and the rest of the World

Baha’is in Iran are subjected to grave injustice. The government of Iran does not recognize the Baha’i Faith as a religion, instead denouncing it as a deviant and misleading sect. The government engages in severe and systematic persecution of the Baha’is. Over 200 Baha’is have been killed since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, thousands have been imprisoned, and many of them have been tortured. Baha’is are denied jobs and access to higher education on the basis of their religion. Baha’i homes and businesses have been raided and attacked, and Baha’i cemeteries and holy places have been destroyed. The Baha’i Faith is a peaceful religion that is based on the principle of the unity of humanity. Baha’is are free to practice their Faith in most parts of the world, but they are denied this right in Iran. Recently, an increasing number of Bahai's, as well as other religious minorities in Iran, have been jailed, tortured, and executed. The persecution of Baha’is in Iran must stop. With this petition, we declare our support for the right to freedom of religion for all people, and we call for an end to the human rights abuses against the Baha’is of Iran. For any questions, please contact
