Why get tested?
Nearly 1.2 million Americans are living with HIV, and one in five don't know they're infected. Learn your status so you can take the necessary steps to protect your health, as well as that of others.
Who should get tested?
Everyone. Even if you are not currently sexually active or know that your partner is clean, there are other paths of transmission, such as blood transfusions, organ donations, childbirth or shared needle-use.
How often should I get tested?
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) urges everyone ages 13-64 to get tested at least once. High-risk individuals, including gay and bisexual men, injection drug users or people with multiple sex partners, are encouraged to get tested at least once a year.
