Belfast City Council and the Northern Ireland Government

On July 11, 2012 Lennox was MURDERED by the BCC after a two year battle due to Breed Specific Legislation (BSL). His loving supporters will now ensure that Lennox is remembered, and that he did not die in vain. Lennox supporters want to see a Lennox' Law come to light, and an end to BSL worldwide. We need as many worldwide signatures as possible on our petition and enough outrage at Lennox' loss to present get the BSL horror abolished.

WE DEMAND ANSWERS BCC! WHY, why did you MURDER an innocent family pet, a sick little girls service dog- her Angel?
Are you prepared for the onslaught of hate mail? Lennox has over 200,000 loving supporters worldwide, and we want answers and Justice for our Lennox.

To the Belfast City Council..
we UNITED Lennox supporters worldwide are ALL disgusted and outraged in the way that you people have handled the Lennox BSL case over the past few years.
We are appalled by your archaic inhumanity and will be calling upon your Federal Government to sack you all, prosecute you all for animal cruelty, and replace each and everyone of you on the Council that was directly involved in the Lennox BSL case.
The MURDER of Lennox who was an innocent family dog, a victim of your insanity and prejudice will not be taken lightly.
You stupid people of the BCC have now opened yourselves up to a mountain of hatred worldwide!
Sincerely
Lennox supporters.

* Please note this petition targets the BCC ( and not the innocent N Ireland people).

Dangerous dog is put to sleep following final court decision
11 July 2012

Belfast City Council confirmed today that the dog Lennox, an illegal pit-bull terrier type, has been humanely put to sleep. This was in accordance with the Order of the County Court which was affirmed by the Northern Ireland Court of Appeal.

Whilst there is an exemption scheme to which dogs of this type (pit-bull terrier type) may be admitted as an alternative to destruction, there were no such measures that could be applied in this case that would address the concerns relating to public safety. The Council`s expert described the dog as one of the most unpredictable and dangerous dogs he had come across.

Over the past two years, Council officials have been subjected to a sustained campaign of abuse including threats of violence and death threats. The Council has been in ongoing contact with the PSNI in relation to that.
The Council regrets that the court action was necessary but would emphasise that the safety of the public remains its key priority.

Lennox was taken away from his loving family and was secreted away for the past two years whilst a fierce battle was held by his family fighting hard and long for his release.
This beautiful dog was very much loved, he was a sick little girls loving helper, her angel. Lennox never bit anyone or did anything to deserve the cruelty that the BCC caused him and his family.
Lennox was an innocent dog, an innocent victim of BSL, a victim of a dirty disgusting Council that need to be all sacked!
Lennox will never be forgotten by millions of animal lovers worldwide who fought so hard along side his family for his release. To his wonderful family we give all love and support.
RIP Lennox xox
