This year, Historic Cherry Hill has done what many other "houses" have done: we've turned down the thermostat, turned off the lights, and reduced our overall energy consumption from 2011 to 2012 by 33% (at the historic house) and 52% (at our storage center).
We have done everything we can to reduce our expenses without compromising our expansive collection, but we still need your help. So, we are asking you, our supporters, to help us cover the cost of our energy consumption for the month of April. Donations will help off-set costs associated with heating the building, turning on the lights, and operating the HVAC system in our collections storage building.
Why April? Because we will be opening again for tours and while staff has grown accustomed to a dimmer, colder building we would like to be able to welcome back the public with lights and heat. Aiming for April should also give us an adequate amount of time to raise the funds we need.
