My PTSD come from the war !!!

PTSD is a very difficult syndrome to deal with and is very real. PTSD can affect any person at any time for a variety of reasons. Yes our Vet's suffer much with this and they need to be helped as much as anyone else with any type of illness. We do include PTSD in our support group along with FM, ME/CFS and ALL chronic pain disorders. God Bless our Vets and everyone suffering from all these illness's/syndromes.

I have suffered with PTSD since surviving a small plane crash 12 years ago - Social Security refused to allow me to draw disability benefits as they would not recognize my PTSD!

We need to find a way to get our veterans, as well as our nation, to know and accept that asking for help is not a sign of weakness. If anything, it should be marked as a sign of strength and intelligence. You know you better than anyone else so for you to recognize the need for outside support, your reaching out should be commended. With women especially, we fear looking like the stereotypical weaker sex, thus requests for help are few and far between. That said however, even those who do...
