Remove the "I Hate Dogs" page from Facebook

Dear Facebook:

Animal hate pages need to be removed and blocked from Facebook. It is a proven fact that people that hate and harm animals eventually hate and harm humans. Children that learn to harm animals proceed to injuring people as well.

These types of animal hate pages are dangerous to the animals, including the human kind.

Facebook please do the right thing and include animals in your "hate protection policies."

This is the page. Judge for yourselves...

If you believe that Facebook needs to remove their "I Hate Dogs" page and needs to better enforce their animal hate pages, then please join our cause.

Please sign if you believe that this page will harm animals and particularly dogs. Please sign this pledge if you believe that animal cruelty leads to human animal cruelty. Please sign if you believe this is just wrong!

Pages like "I Hate Dogs" come and go on Facebook all the time, and Facebook needs to better police them. The "I Hate Dogs" page has supposedly been shut down before but it's back. Let's make sure it (and others like it) go away once and for all time!

In an effort to explore legal options to help Facebook to ban animal cruelty pages, we have reached out to  Dr. Antoine F. Goetschel, the famous Swiss Animal Rights lawyer (thank you Franklin Hynes), and Joyce Tischler, Founder and General Counsel of the  Animal Legal Defense Fund. We have not heard back from these wonderful people, and they in no way endorse what we do, but we would welcome their advice.

Causes.com has reached out to us and is actively assisting us in promoting our petition. Collectively we are planning a "media event" when we physically present our 300,000+ signatures to Facebook at their corporate headquarters!

We will let you know the date and times as things develop further. If you are able and willing to join us at this event, then please reach out me directly at me@patrickdoyle.com, or through the petition page at Causes.com/RemoveHate

Please help us spread the word to reach the quarter million mark, then to 3000,000!

Now that Mark Zuckerberg and his team have totally ignored our petition, we are ramping up the pressure. Next week I am filing the first of several lawsuits against Facebook for violation of "animal cruelty" laws. There are hundreds of Facebook pages that violate U.S. State laws. There are also several countries where these pages are illegal, constitute animal cruelty, and carry heavy jail time. If you are interested in working with us in filing claims in your country or state/province,...

    Citation: NMSA 1978, § 30-18-1 to 30-18-15

Extreme cruelty to animals, a fourth-degree felony, consists of a person intentionally or maliciously torturing, mutilating, injuring or poisoning an animal or maliciously killing an animal.

Here's an example of what Facebook is illegally allowing.

"This is Christy Ponti who takes great pleasure in killing animals with knives, hammers, clubs and anything brutal. She then skins them, sometimes while they are still alive. She tortures them before they die for pleasure, and she sells the pictures and video footage on Facebook and on her website."

If Facebook won't do the right thing, then maybe we can help them! Also we are starting a new petition to force Twitter to eliminate their animal cruelty pages.

We are currently at over 245,000 signatures. Please spread the word and help us to reach 300K signatures!

We were able to submit our petition to their Public Relations department, and that has been totally ignored. It time for round two! The petition has been re-opened and we continue to signup additional animal protectors. Please consider sharing a post about us if you believe Facebook needs to eliminate animal hate pages.

We are now going to document ads on these animal hate pages, and let advertisers know where there advertisements are appearing. Perhaps if enough advertisers start demanding their ads NOT appear on these pages, then it may be more profitable for Facebook to remove the pages.

We are making progress though. It appears the "Cat Recipe Exchange" page has been taken down, and was specifically mentioned in our letter to Facebook!

If anyone has media contacts we can submit to, please reach out to us via a post here.

There is no place for animal hate pages on Facebook.

Beware toxic chicken jerky treats made in China, that to date have sickened over 2,200 dogs with kidney & liver failure, and killed over 360.

This Friday concerned pet owners will demonstrate outside Walmart stores around the country to protest the continued selling and marketing toxic pet treats made in China.

On Black Friday, 2012 determined pet food consumers all across the U.S. and Canada will gather together in front of Walmarts.

Mission: We are asking Walmart to remove all Chinese imported jerky treats from store shelves immediately and we ask they remain removed until the FDA has issued a statement the treats are safe for pets to consume.

Description: Why Black Friday? Several reasons, but the biggest is media. Black Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year. Every single year, the media is in front of Walmarts all across the U.S. filming the shopping frenzy. By planning to ask Walmart managers questions on this day, we have guaranteed media attention. We need our questions to Walmart to be publicized in every city - this is our one day to achieve that.

Why Walmart? Walmart is the largest national retailer. If Walmart removes the treats from store shelves, it is likely other retailers will follow.

What are we asking for and what are the grounds for our request? Very simple...we are asking Walmart to remove all Chinese imported jerky treats from store shelves immediately and we ask they remain removed until the FDA has issued a statement the treats are safe for pets to consume.

    Dear Facebook,

My name is Patrick Doyle and the attached file contains the names of 111,971 Facebook users who have signed a petition to remove "Animal Hate" from Facebook, and who respectfully ask Facebook to include animals in their hate protection policies. We reached the goal of 100,000 signatures in 13 weeks.

There are several advantages to Facebook in considering our petition. The first is, this is the right thing to do for animals that are currently being harmed by Facebook. Please look at these two example pages. Unfortunately there are many others.

    "I Hate Dogs "
    http://www.facebook.com/pages/I-hate-dogs/113847925345917

    "Cat Recipe Exchange"
    http://www.facebook.com/CREP0

Your pages like these are hurting animals. In some Countries, these pages amount to "animal cruelty" and are illegal. The second reason is what a great press release this would be for Facebook "Facebook helps animals worldwide" and "Facebook supports pet owners around the globe"( who just happen to be half the planet)! It is a proven fact that people who hurt animals, hurt other humans. Children that learn animal hate, grow up hurting animals and human animals. A third reason is your advertisers will not want to be associated with these types of pages.

Please add "animals" to your hate protection policies! By simply adding the word "animals" to your following two protections, you can save millions of animals from abuse!

    Facebook Community Standards::

    Violence and Threats:
Safety is Facebook's top priority. You may not credibly threaten to harm others (or animals), or organize acts of real-world violence. We remove content and may escalate to law enforcement when we perceive a genuine risk of physical harm, or a direct threat to public safety. We also prohibit promoting, planning or celebrating any of your actions if they have, or could, result in financial harm to others, including theft and vandalism.

    Hate Speech:
Facebook does not permit hate speech (towards humans or animals). While we encourage you to challenge ideas, institutions, events, and practices, it is a serious violation to attack a person based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or medical condition.

Please feel free to visit our official website at http://RemoveHate.org or the ongoing petition at http://causes.com/RemoveHate. We truly would like to work with Facebook on eliminating animal hate, and helping you promote a family friendly environment that truly respects the value of life for both human, and non-human animals. This is the human(e) thing to do!

    With respect,
    Patrick Doyle

** Tainted dog treat update. There are several class-action lawsuits relating to tainted dog treats made in China. Check your treat package & if they are made in China throw them out! Treats by Waggin' Train and Milo's Kitchen are being reported as killing dogs and making them seriously ill.

"A grieving pet owner has filed a $5 million class action lawsuit against Nestle Purina and Wal-Mart, claiming his dog died after eating Waggin' Train "Yam Good" dog treats.

Dennis Adkins claims in the Nestle Purina class action lawsuit that he purchased the Waggin' Train brand treats from Wal-Mart in March and fed the chicken jerky treats, which are made in China, to his 9-year-old Pomeranian. After three days of eating the treats, his dog became sick. She later died of kidney failure 11 days later.

"Waggin' Train has spent millions of dollars in promoting trust and confidence among consumers in its pet food products," Adkins says in the class action lawsuit. "The product was not wholesome, was not nutritious and was unhealthy.""

    Hi Bill,

I wanted to respond to your request about me and this petition. "Trust but verify"..

I have no hidden agenda, and I truly believe in the first amendment.

In the middle of June I was made aware of the "I Hate Dogs" page and candidly was appalled when I visited it. Back then this page was littered with photos of dog attacks, which is their prerogative and protected speech. I get that.

What disturbed me were all the calls to kill, beat, and maim the dogs. This included recipes to poison with antifreeze, calls to take out your aggression on the dogs, calls to kill them whenever the opportunities arose, etc. I even tried talking to the owners and visitors with respectful dialog. That proved an effort in futility, and was actually quite disturbing.

This is when I started the drive to censor this page. Ironically, the more the public became aware of this page, the more they flooded it with pictures and stories of the benefit of dogs, and their right to respect. This page looks nothing like it did 8 weeks ago.

The petition is going viral, and I believe this is a good thing. In my humble opinion there is way too much hate in this world. Too much of that hate is being directed at defenseless animals. Harming animals leads to harming humans.

The goal of this petition has evolved as I learn how people feel, and as I learn just how many animal hate groups/pages/people there out there.

Bottom line Bill is I hope to be in a position to respectfully request that Facebook at least look at the issues, at best to include "non-human animals" in their hate protection policies. When we reach 100K signatures I will come up with a creative & respectful way to present this to Facebook, and the media.

I'm meaningless in all this but my websites are:
