POLL: Like Angelina Jolie, would you take the BRCA genetic test to learn your breast cancer risk?
Angelina Jolie wrote an op-ed in the NY Times about getting a preventive double mastectomy. She did this because she tested positive as a carrier of the BRCA gene. If one tests positive for this genetic mutation, one has up to a 65% lifetime risk of getting breast cancer. If one tests positive

Inspirational Messages for Breast Cancer Victims
"With over 3 million women battling breast cancer today, everywhere you turn there is a mother, daughter, sister, or friend who has been affected by breast cancer." -Betsey Johnson Most of us in this cause know someone who has been a victim of breast cancer and some of us are victims ourselves.
Why is this campaign important to you?
I would rather have my breast removed than have to go thru radiation and chemo. I was fortunate to catch cancer early in both breasts. I had one removed then 5 yrs later. I have a flat chest and am proud of the fact that I am a cancer survivor. I have the gene testing to see if my daughter or granddaughters had a greater chance of the horrible but thankfully it came back that I was not a carrier. Thank you GOD
someone who is very important to me came down with breast cancer. She had a mastectomy and treatment and survived. I am not important to her. But, it hit home. She has a genetic tie for getting breast cancer, and I recently learned that those with a tie or who have had cancer before should avoid the use of chia seeds. It may be healthy, generally, but not where cancer can be involved. I am not the most intelligent or well informed, but I think it bears repeating, just in case. My best wishes to all of you and wishes of good health.
