    We demand that Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine launch a new investigation of all evidence that has been released regarding the Steubenville 'rape crew'. The investigation that took place within the Steubenville legal system has been insufficient. Steubenville has refused to acknowledge new evidence and all charged rapists have been released on bail.

    A new investigation should take into account all forms of evidence available and provide fair prosecution and defense to all parties.

    The judicial system in Steubenville has demonstrated itself as unfit to conduct a proper investigation into the events surrounding the rape of a 16-year-old girl. The perpetrators made public comments on Twitter showing no remorse or sense of humanity. The courts in Steubenville have been incapable of showing even a modicum of justice; only two of the rapists were charged, and both were deferred to juvenile justice and have been released on bail. It seems as though all parties involved are trying to protect the rapists instead of the victim.

      "In a trial that moved quickly through the weekend with a visiting judge, 17-year-old Trent Mays and 16-year-old Ma'lik Richmond have been found guilty. Mays was sentenced to a minimum of two years in a juvenile correctional facility. Richmond was sentenced to a minimum of one year, but like Mays could be in detention until he is 21. Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said more charges in the case could be forthcoming. He intends to call a grand jury to hear more evidence. "We cannot bring finality to this case without convening a grand jury," he said. He said there were 16 people who had refused to talk to investigators."

      This is a big win for the victim and the town of Steubenville. But the battle isn't over yet, especially with so many people refusing to help bring all criminals to justice.
