Support gun violence prevention. After the national moment of silence on Dec. 21, NOW is the moment to do something.
Count me in220,521 people took the pledge
On Friday, December 21, over 175,000 people participated in the national moment of silence and more than 1,000 websites that went dark in a show of solidarity. It is now time to do something about gun violence. We welcome everyone on all sides of the issue to this dialogue.
On Friday, December 14th and 9:30am ET, twenty school children, their four teachers, and two school administrators were murdered by a lone gunman. The moment we learned about the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut will be etched in our memories forever. The horror of this incident was the last straw in a string of mass shootings; in an instant we knew we could not sit idly by until the next time this happens again.
In the coming weeks and months, we must come together around common-sense solutions that will prevent the gun violence that has become all too frequent in communities across the country. We welcome everyone to this dialogue—we want to hear from gun owners who think it's time for a change as well as folks who are still on the fence. We're all going to have to come together if we're going to move this country forward.
Please join us. In the new year, we will provide more information on the steps being considered in Washington and how you can express your support for change.

It is not the gun that is a problem and needs laws. It is the inappropriate action of the person. Perhaps he lacked values n ethics n a loving consciousness in all he did. When a spiritual God awareness is not at home in schools at work or in actions of people we interact with then violence enters in. Get go the source not focus on symptoms. Positive solutions get positive results. If you think of doom n gloom then eventually that is what you attract.
i agree
Ive been avoiding reading too much on this story. It's totally awful! But when will the USA BLOODY learn? How many killings of their children will it take to make them wake up? America I beg you for your own sake. Make guns illegal. As a parent I feel a huge sadness for the families & my heart & tears go out to everyone of them.
Our prayers are with each one who is greiving. Perhaps meditation will help and in time bring balance into your lives.
WWW.freemeditation.com just to unite and remove all differences and anguish and replace with love.
thank u for your words of thoughfullness and kindness
Whenever a sick person wants to cause harm.....look at the sick person's state of mind......not the guns, sharp knives, gasoline, gunpowder and fire......MUST OBSERVE TORTURED SOULS.....not take away all objects that could cause us harm.
Let's try taking alcohol and automobiles out of our lives .....drunk drivers kill so often it is hardly news any longer.
Do any of you remember the story about a family fighting to the point of killing each other in front of their little girl? When the little girl was questioned about being afraid she said NO, Jesus took my hand and led me behind the couch and put his arms around me so I didn't see or hear anything. That is the way I see the 20 children, turning to run into the arms of Jesus! God bless the teachers who kept the others safe and the ones who gave their lives to try to protect them. I will...

I'm against violence of every kind, not simply gun violence. It is not guns that are the enemy, it's ignorance and people who are violent.
let's stop any kind of violence!
yes AMEN lets stop violence of any kind to anyone or animals
Frankly, I have been praying every day since this horrible incident too place in Newton CT for all the murdered victims , their parents and families, and for the gunman and his family. I will add to my prayer, that not only common sense prevails with regard to gun violence, but that we will be able to do something, anything, to curb this violence once and for all.
I'm writing from France. In 1971 and 1972 I spent several months in your country. Particularly in California. I was amazed by your country. You can be such a great people, such a wonderfull nation. But also, so frightening.
Anyway, I think that "Fools", evil, exist everywhere.
I hope you'll be strong enough to continue the battle, for all the children who still live.
I'd like to say you that the "light" is at the end of the path. Bless you.
THANK U for your words of love and encouragement GOD BLESS you
