On Friday, December 14th and 9:30am ET, twenty school children, their four teachers, and two school administrators were murdered by a lone gunman. The moment we learned about the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut will be etched in our memories forever. The horror of this incident was the last straw in a string of mass shootings; in an instant we knew we could not sit idly by until the next time this happens again.

In the coming weeks and months, we must come together around common-sense solutions that will prevent the gun violence that has become all too frequent in communities across the country. We welcome everyone to this dialogue—we want to hear from gun owners who think it's time for a change as well as folks who are still on the fence. We're all going to have to come together if we're going to move this country forward.

Please join us. In the new year, we will provide more information on the steps being considered in Washington and how you can express your support for change.

If you have a website or blog, please spread the word by placing this badge on your page. Use the Twitter hashtag #NeverAgain to let your friends know the importance of committing today to reduce future gun violence.

Now is the moment to do something about gun violence. Never again.

Do any of you remember the story about a family fighting to the point of killing each other in front of their little girl? When the little girl was questioned about being afraid she said NO, Jesus took my hand and led me behind the couch and put his arms around me so I didn't see or hear anything. That is the way I see the 20 children, turning to run into the arms of Jesus! God bless the teachers who kept the others safe and the ones who gave their lives to try to protect them. I will...

I will observe the moment of silence in prayer for all those left behind cause I know where the others are.

I can not understand this kind of violence.. I join the grief of the familiies....

I'm against violence of every kind, not simply gun violence. It is not guns that are the enemy, it's ignorance and people who are violent.

I'm not going to give away my rights as an American because some nut killed some people.
There are more people, children, killed by drunk drivers every year, tell me why is gun violence so publicized?
Just look how Obama is trying to dismantle the bill of Rights! There is your answer.
Do you want those people to run your lives?

I am with you 100% I think about this tragedy everytime I see children and teachers leaving school at the end of the day. Sending prayers to all.

I'm with you on this William.

am so humble for that.

It is not the gun that is a problem and needs laws. It is the inappropriate action of the person. Perhaps he lacked values n ethics n a loving consciousness in all he did. When a spiritual God awareness is not at home in schools at work or in actions of people we interact with then violence enters in. Get go the source not focus on symptoms. Positive solutions get positive results. If you think of doom n gloom then eventually that is what you attract.

There is never such a thing as gun control because criminals will always do what they want regardless of the law. We must work on fixing the culture of conquest that has plagued America since 1492, a hard pill for white Americans to swallow. Violence, begets violence and we only pretend to be none the wiser, in reality we know better and the practice of bullying by America is at the very core of our existence veryday even while there is an anti-bullying campaign going on this moment, no one...

There is never such a thing as gun control because criminals will always do what they want regardless of the law. We must work on fixing the culture of conquest that has plagued America since 1492, a hard pill for white Americans to swallow. Violence, begets violence and we only pretend to be none the wiser, in reality we know better and the practice of bullying by America is at the very core of our existence veryday even while there is an anti-bullying campaign going on this moment, no one seems to listen because by all standards, bullying works, and by the 'elite' most Americans are bullied daily even if they did not know it.

Our country has pilfered its people for far too long. Regular citizen's voice have for too long been quiet. The trickle down has only worked in relation to the suffering that has changed hands, nothing else. We no longer know how to behave collectively so that we all can thrive, survive, and be mentally sound individually. We have done a job of pretending so well that we can even be told what the lies are and still we are not pushing for the law of the land to get justice where it is most needed.

It is time we healed one another, and to do that all we need to do is come together and respect one another.
